(8.7.08) The government's Intoxicating Liquor Bill is currently in the process of being guillotined through the Oireachtas, despite strong opposition objections, as well as serious reservations within the Fianna Fáil party themselves. Tonight at 11.30pm the bill is due before The Dáil, when a vote from the house is expected to take place. Tomorrow, it will be due before The Seanad. We urge you to contact members of The Seanad to inform them of the unjust manner in which the government are dealing with this bill, as well as asking them to slow down the process of the bill, so it may be re-examined after the summer, rather than coming into law now.
